Family Holidays at the Wilder Kaiser Mountains

A Children´s Winter Wonderland

A winter holiday for children offers so much diversity: building a snowman, having a wild snowball fight, a spot of sledding, skiing or just messing around in the snow – the choice is huge.

At the Landhof, 8,000 m² of traffic-free terrain ensure pure winter fun! A huge, white playground - and after all the fun in the fresh air, you can head on back to your cosy apartment, the warmth-infused wellness area and the steaming outdoor pool, heated to a 35°.

Our ski area Wilder Kaiser - Brixental has already been on the receiving end of several awards, amongst others, as a particularly child-friendly area – which becomes immediately apparent on arrival. If your little ones want to try skiing or boarding for the first time, or improve existing skills, the friendly and well-trained instructors of the two ski schools and snowboard schools in Ellmau are more than happy to provide assistance. You can also book the services of the ski schools in the village directly at the mountain station of the Hartkaiser cable car, where you will also find a fully-serviced crèche and kid´s restaurant for children aged 2 and over.

Optimum care for young skiers

The Tyrolean ski schools are among the best in the world! A wide choice of nursery slopes and lifts also guarantee perfect conditions for learning and having fun in the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental. Meanwhile, childcare facilities in the surrounding area also provide great entertainment for the children who are not yet skiing!

The many mountain huts in the region offer an interesting selection of Tyrolean specialities. Whether enjoying a grilled sausage or traditional Kaiserschmarrn... skiers can tank up their energy levels whilst enjoying the warm hospitality of the region!

Tobogganing

Two family-friendly toboggan runs with over 12 km of sledding fun, are open dailys and can also be used several evenings per week.

Things get quite sporty in Going at Astberg Mountain, with a run down to Going/Ellmau, while the “Hexenritt Söll” run has an impressive width of 8 metres and is perfect for families.

By the way, night sledding on the Astberg toboggan run is a very special experience: the lifts are also open here on some evenings, so you can ride up comfortably with your toboggans. At the top you can stop off in one of the huts before you return to the valley down the well-lit tracks. We are happy to lend you toboggans free of charge (with a children’s seat on request) for your excursion!

Horse-drawn sleigh rides

People of all ages love the experience of a horse-drawn sleigh ride through snow-covered landscapes. Horse-drawn carriage rides are offered at Wilder Kaiser in the towns of Ellmau, Going and Söll. We are happy to make a reservation for you!

„Family holidays at the Wilder Kaiser also offer plenty of possibilities for those who do not want to ski, or who rae just taking a break from the slopes!“
