Summer Holidays

at the Wilder Kaiser mountains – wonderfully diverse holidays

Our Wilder Kaiser Region with its villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll offer almost inexhaustible opportunities for physical activities and exciting experiences in nature.

Sports and leisure activities such as swimming, canyoning, paragliding, running, Nordic walking, tennis, football and beach volleyball are just as much on the agenda as traditional concerts, farmers' markets and village festivals.

The Wilder Kaiser Tourist Board app also shows the best excursion destinations, weather forecasts, leisure activities and the weekly programme for the region every day - also via livestream for smartphones and tablets.

Hiking for every taste

Our region is a real hiker’s paradise! Here you will find the perfect tour to suit every preference and level of ability.

The Wilder Kaiser in the Kitzbühel Alps has over 400 km of marked hiking trails that take you through the most beautiful natural landscapes.

A break for refreshments at one of the many mountain huts of the region is an absolute must! Many alpine farms still produce the best products themselves, such as butter, cheese and cured bacon.

Scenic cycling

Even on two wheels, the Wilder Kaiser region can be explored to your heart's content! Whether by mountain bike, e-bike or road bike: you can set out along 350 km of cycle paths, or just use your bike as a comfortable, sporty means of transport between the various places of interest and popular destinations.

Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll belong, incidentally, to the world's largest e-bike region of "Kitzbüheler Alps – Kaisergebirge". Hiring bikes and finding out which tour is best for you is no problem at all. We have three bikes available at no cost to you in the Landhof, or you could also try one of our three e-bikes, which you can take out for an hour to try them out!

Mountain Climbing

Our Wilder Kaiser region is famed for its climbing opportunities! Accompanied by experienced guides, beginners can learn the most important techniques here and try their first climbs. There are also numerous via Ferrate routes suitable for children and courses for families at the Wilder Kaiser, which introduce you to climbing the mountains along secured paths.

You can also take advantage of the facilities offered by our new climbing hall that opened in 2015.

Pure paragliding freedom!

Paragliding offers a great opportunity to experience the world from a bird's eye view! Experienced pilots have as much fun here in the skies over the Wilder Kaiser as newcomers. Those interested are best advised to go for a tandem flight, in order to enjoy this experience of flying for the first time. Again, we are more than happy to help you reserve a flight!

Make a splash in refreshingly cool waters!

What could be nicer on a hot summer’s day than a refreshing swim? Exactly! Fancy a change of scene from the Landhof pool? Not a problem, there are no less than four bathing lakes and swimming pools in the immediate vicinity: KaiserBad Ellmau, Lake Ahornsee Söll, Going Bathing Lake, Hintersteiner and Schwarzsee lakes.

"On a beautiful summer's day, there is almost no end to the choice of adventurous activities here in Ellmau! We are there for you every step of the way with valuable advice and support!”
