Top Trip Tips for Summer

Summery days and balmy nights

A couple of particularly noteworthy jaunts follow, to make your summer holiday in Ellmau that extra bit special!

Ellmau Summer Nights

From mid-June to the start of October, Ellmau turns into a promenade every Tuesday. Starting at 18 hrs, the whole village is closed to cars and visitors are invited to relax and unwind in pop-up bars and live music Local specialities from the region - such as doughnuts, dumplings and sausages – can all be sampled here alongside locally crafted Tyrolean treasures.

The Wilder Kaiser Moors

Nature in its best: the rejuvenated moorland landscape “Moor & More” on the southern slopes of the Wilder Kaiser provides fascinating information about rare and untouched nature. Adventure paths and hiking trails create as an open-air classroom, crammed full of rare flora and fauna.

Two hiking routes particularly lend themselves to youngsters – using puzzle books and interactive information points they can follow their curiosity, making many new discoveries along the way: The best starting point for the „Rocky Runde“ circuit is Going Bathing Lake’s car park, and the play area at St Johann’s Gasthof Römerhof for the „Törfchenrunde“ circuit.

“Bergdoktor“ Hikes

For fans of the series, there are frequent hikes to all the well-known locations in summer. Hiking guide Peter knows how to tell a story and Landhof hostess Isabelle has numerous anecdotes from her time as an extra on set.

There are also periodic fan days for die-hard lovers of the series, who can enjoy the experience of meeting their idols in the flesh!

Make a splash in refreshingly cool waters!

What could be nicer on a hot summer’s day than a refreshing swim? There are no less than four bathing lakes and swimming pools in the immediate vicinity: KaiserBad Ellmau, Lake Ahornsee Söll, Going Bathing Lake, Hintersteiner and Schwarzsee lakes.

Dear Landhof friends,

we very much hope that you and your loved ones are doing very well.

Good news first: A vacation for vaccinated and convalescent people is still possible without restriction with the usual diverse sports and relaxation opportunities in our hotel and the region!
The well-being and health of our guests and our employees are of course very important to us. That is why we at the LANDHOF have implemented the following changes for your benefit:

Relaxed cancellation conditions

At the moment there can always be changes in conditions at the borders. We have therefore changed the following cancellation conditions in your favor:

  • For the entire winter season 2022, we have shortened our cancellation deadline to 10 days prior to arrival.
  • Exception: in December 2021 / January 2022 you can even cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before arrival.
  • As of May 2022, our usual cancellation conditions will apply again, so that you can cancel up to 1 month before arrival.
  • In the case of acute border closings, cancellations can of course also be made at short notice free of charge.

Vaccinated employees

So that you can enjoy your stay completely carefree and to the fullest, all of our employees are vaccinated and are also tested weekly - because Tyrolean hospitality should stay as it is; warm and personal.
Current information and case numbers can be found here.

Regardless of your request, we are happy to be at your disposal. Please write to our email address and we will respond to your message as quickly as possible.

And now it's just a matter of enjoying your vacation and relaxing!

It's nice that, despite all the circumstances, our hotel is filled with life again, because our guests really make the LANDHOF what it is.

Isabelle Winkler and the entire LANDHOF team wish only the best and a warm "stay healthy" from Ellmau.
