Family Holidays

Experience, explore, enjoy

The Wilder Kaiser region is one of the most family-friendly regions in Tyrol. Ellmau is one of 20 award-winning Family Tirol villages... and as a 5 star member of the Tyrolean Family Nests, we at Landhof specialise in family holidays.
In summer, six fascinating adventure worlds in the Wilder Kaiser region invite visitors of all ages to explore and hike the mountains in an exciting and playful way: Ellmi's Magical World in Ellmau, Hexenwasser in Hochsöll, KaiserWelt in Scheffau, Alpinolino in Westendorf, Filzalmsee Hochbrixen and the Hohe Salve.

All attractions are easy to reach with the cable cars from May to November and many are accessible with a pushchair. Numerous events and activities as well as the region’s varied children's programme provide a lot of diversity.

Ellmi's Magical World in Ellmau

Close to the Landhof you will find the Hartkaiser lift, which takes you up the Hartkaiser Mountain… From here you can step into a fantasy play land: Ellmi’s Magical World!
Follow in the footsteps of Ellmi, a sorcerer’s apprentice who goblins turned into a giant frog! To save him, young explorers must find a treasure map and unravel the clues. Colourful magical beings and talking trees will enchant them…
The Hartkaiser lift, newly built in 2015, is an adventure all of its own: Floor to ceiling windows offers a panoramic view of the majestic mountains!

KaiserWelt Scheffau

A game world full of fun at 1,650 metres above sea level: In the Kaiserwelt at the Brandstadl near Scheffau, a cheery Emperor of Games invites all his subjects to his unique kingdom. Here you can spend the entire day playing, tumbling and running riot!

Hexenwasser Söll Hohe Salve

Water worlds and natural spectacles: the mountain adventure world of the Hexenwasser in Söll has been entertaining adults and children alike for over 10 years. There are over 60 interactive stations where all the senses come into play.

The ”Blaue Wunder“ or Blue Wonder is a particularly popular station at the Hexenwasser and a highlight in its own right. Here you can explore the “source of life“ in a playful manner with currents, gurgling water and much more…

Alpinolino in Westendorf

The alpine explorer park is on the top of the Talhaser mountain (1,770m) in Westendorf – where young visitors have much to discover!
On the „Himmelsteig“ (Celestial Trail), „Holzwurmweg“ (Woodworm Trail) and the “Eagle’s Nest” are lots of interesting animal riddles, many natural wonders and the new “Spoggolino” ball run – all ready and waiting. And not forgetting every Monday in July and August the children have their very own Alpinolino children’s party from 10.30 to 14 hrs – for everyone 4-12 years old!

Refreshing Water Fun

What could be nicer on a hot summer’s day than a refreshing swim? Fancy a change of scene from The Landhof pool?  Not a problem, there are no less than four bathing lakes and swimming pools in the immediate vicinity:

  • KaiserBad Ellmau
  • Lake Ahornsee Söll
  • Going Bathing
  • Hintersteiner lake (see picture)
  • Schwarzsee lake

„The Wilder Kaiser ticks every box for our littlest guests!  Acres of space to let off steam, fantabulous great new things to discover and, above, all heaps of fun in the fresh air!”
