at the Wilder Kaiser Mountains – impressive mountain scenery

Hiking in our Wilder Kaiser region is an impressive experience for all ages. Here you will find the perfect tour to suit every preference and level of ability.

The Wilder Kaiser mountain range has over 400 km of marked hiking trails that take you through the most beautiful natural landscapes. Incidentally, the peaks of the Kaiser Mountains have been under a preservation order since 1963 - this natural setting is quite rightly considered to be one of the most beautiful in Austria.

Mountain hut

A break for refreshments at one of the many mountain huts of the region is an absolute must! Many alpine huts still produce the best products themselves, such as butter, cheese and cured bacon.
Mountain hut dining experiences are one-of-a-kind and an enjoyable experience for the whole family...

Hiking with children

The journey is the reward when it comes to hiking with children: exciting stations, funny characters and wonders of nature can be discovered along the many adventure trails in the region - such as "Ellmi's Magical World", the “Rübezahlschnitzweg Trail" or “Rehbachklamm Gorge."

There are also a number of tour suggestions that have been put together by family and hiking experts for families with small children. A hiking stamp book inspires young walkers to keep going, while the "KaiserJet” hiking bus provides walkers with convenient transport back to their original starting point.

Young hikers can of course round off a successful tour with a refreshing dip in one of the bathing lakes!

Hiking Bus

Pleasant and comfortable: The "KaiserJet” bus for hikers and swimmers transports you to your desired destination during your hiking holiday. It shuttles daily from May to the end of October between Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll, stopping off at all cable cars, swimming pools and excursion destinations at Wilder Kaiser.

Visitors also have the KaiserJet Nightliner at their disposal: It shuttles twice in the evening from mid-June to the late September on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from Söll, Scheffau, Ellmau to Going and back again.

„We live in one of Austria’s most impressive natural landscapes - Tyrol shows itself from its most beautiful here. And the best way to explore the area is on foot, either on a short walk or extended hike ... "
