Even in the best regions, it occasionally rains. We have selected a few special excursion destinations for days when the weather is not as good as we could wish for

 

Kaiser Bad in Ellmau

Our recently completed, entirely renovated, water park in Ellmau boasts of an indoor pool, four slides, eco-pool, diving boards, spa area and large playground (indoor!).

Blaues Wunder Söll

The ”Blaue Wunder“ or Blue Wonder is a particularly popular station at Hexenwasser and a highlight in its own right. Here you can explore the “source of life“ in a playful manner with currents, gurgling water and much more…

Wörgl

Less than half an hour from Ellmau, you will find M4 with a several cinemas, a reasonable shopping centre with cafés and restaurants plus a nine-pin bowling alley.

Jochberg Copper Mine

Around half an hour from Ellmau, the Jochberg Copper Mine offers fascinating insights into copper production. This includes a train ride and is especially nice for smaller children. If the weather clears, you can include a visit to the Aurach Wild Life Park on the way back.

Kufstein

The pretty border town of Kufstein, just 20 minutes from Ellmau, has an impressive fortress and the Riedl Glas crystal factory is an interesting place to visit.

Schwaz

Schwaz is also well worth visiting: about 45 minutes from Ellmau, the Silver Mine (with underground train rides) and Planetarium make a fund excursion for all ages. This can be combined with Swarowski (details below)

Swarovski Crystal Worlds

The glittering Chambers of Wonder at Swarovski Crystal Worlds literally take your breath away in Wattens, around 50 minutes away. Swarovski Crystal Worlds is home to both a museum and magical world, which offer insights into the history of the company, whilst providing children with a huge play area.

Urlaub beim Bergdoktor

Der Bergdoktor öffnete seine Praxis in Ellmau im Jahr 1992 zum ersten Mal: Gerhard Lippert verkörperte fünf Jahre lang den leidenschaftlich engagierten Dr. Martin Gruber. Seit 2008 hat der Österreicher Hans Sigl mit dem Bergdoktor eine seiner Lebensrollen gefunden; bislang flimmerten 12 Staffeln der ungebrochen erfolgreichen Serie über die Bildschirme. Isabelle Winkler war drei Jahre lang Teil des Teams.
