The Landhof ist situated just 800 m from the Hartkaiser funicular railway which give access to Austria´s largest inter-connected ski arena comprising 90 lifts in the Skiwelt region and a further 60 lifts in the Kitzbühler Alpen region which is connected via the KIWest lift in Westendorf.
Another possibility is the Alpen Allstar pass which extends to 359 lifts and over 100 kilometres of pistes in Tirol and Salzburg. A free ski bus runs daily from the hotel and intermediate skiers can ski to and from the Landhof.
The Wilder Kaiser region offers nearly unlimited fun on the slopes. With over 279 kilometres of cleared runs (of which 210 have artificial snow facilities), over 90 lifts and 70 mountain huts and restaurants, this is the largest inter-connected ski area inAustria, catering to all levels of expertise. You will find that it is not only the sheer size of the ski area which is impressive, but also the quality of the lift system and the perfectly groomed pistes. With regard to the family-friendly criteria, the Skiwelt has been awarded “best resort in the world”.
Miles and miles of perfectly prepared trails lead through the winter wonderland scenery of Ellmau and the surrounding villages, offering challenges for all levels from beginner to advanced.
A winter holiday in Ellmau is pure fun for the whole family: snow ball fights, building a snowman, snow tubing, tobogganing, skiing – it´s just a pity that the days are shorter at this time year! The three ski schools in Ellmau cater to children from 3 years upwards and ensure the best standard of instruction for your children. For babies and toddlers, there is also a crèche in the area, based in Söll, which offers their services to children from 6 months on week days.
No winter holiday is complete without a toboggan evening or afternoon. We have a very good 4 km. floodlit toboggan run in Ellmau which is serviced by the Astbergbahn chairlift during the day and also three evenings per week. There are two nice restaurants at the top well worth visiting.
Skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, tobogganing and ski touring are just a few of the possibilities on offer here in Ellmau. You will also find many other activities available such as horse drawn sleigh rides, snow tubing, ice climbing, tandem paragliding and so on.
